Preventive bug control
Western Exterminator technicians practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM), which combines environmentally friendly and common-sense bug control practices. Our technicians use the breeding and nesting habits of pests, which helps them determine where specifically to use pesticides. There are four major components of Integrated Pest Management:
Common entry points
Bugs often get in through small gaps around the home: cracks in walls, spaces around windows and doors, open vents, and holes in screens. Even plumbing or electrical lines can give pests a way inside. Sealing up these spots will help keep pests out of your property.
Seasonal prevention
Some pests, like bed bugs, are present all year round. But for many pests, activity changes with the seasons. In general, bugs are more active in the warmer months and seek shelter as the weather turns colder.
