Wildlife control: the Western way

Western Exterminator’s wildlife control services involve the humane capture and removal of nuisance pests on your property. A Western technician will perform an Animal Entry Point Inspection to identify any potential entry points for the pests. If any critters are found, your expert will provide you with a plan to trap and remove them from your property.

Wildlife includes any animal that is not considered a pest, such as batschipmunksgophersmoles, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, and voles. Our technicians adhere to all state laws and regulations for any protected species.

Western Exterminator's wildlife management services

The method used to trap wildlife all depends on the species you are dealing with. Our wildlife pest control service involves either a trap and release method, exclusion, or sometimes both, depending on the type of wildlife you are trying to remove.

Our trapping methods are usually only used if the wildlife pest is a nuisance. If the pest isn’t considered a nuisance, your specialist will use exclusion methods to control it. Trapping services are offered for all nuisance mammals except bats. The traps are checked daily to ensure a humane capture.

Exclusion services will help control wildlife from infesting your yard. Exclusion services can be combined with trapping services to seal any other openings that the wildlife may use to gain entry. These services are often used together to prevent a reinfestation.

One-way doors are often used for squirrels. These doors allow the animal to exit the structure it has infested and not re-enter. Depending on the type of wildlife you are dealing with, your specialist may combine exclusion services with one-way doors.

Why is there wildlife on my property?

Wild animals often make their way into homes and businesses in search of food, water, or a quiet place to shelter. Gaps in roofing, vents, or siding, sometimes too small to notice, can offer easy access. Once inside, they tend to nest in low-traffic areas like attics, walls, or crawl spaces, where they’re unlikely to be disturbed.

Outside the building, things like uncovered trash, bird feeders, or pet food can attract them and encourage them to stick around. A professional wildlife pest control inspection can help identify what’s bringing wildlife close and what can be done to keep them out for good.

Why is wildlife management important?

Your property is a huge investment. Taking corrective action now is the best way to safeguard your home from destructive pests. Unwanted wildlife pests can cause serious damage to both your property and building structure, resulting in costly repairs if not treated properly. These pests can also pose serious health risks and cause harm to crops and plants. Wildlife management helps reduce these risks by addressing the problem at its source and using humane methods to remove animals and prevent them from returning.

Frequently asked questions

Getting rid of wildlife often leads to questions, because there are many different types of wildlife located all over the West. Here are a few of our most asked questions.

Yes, they can. Raccoons, squirrels, and other wildlife may tear insulation, chew through wood or wires, and damage vents or roofing materials. These issues can lead to costly repairs if not addressed early.

We do. After removing the animal, our technicians can seal off common entry points to help prevent future problems. This may include screening vents, patching holes, or adding covers to chimneys, all based on your property’s needs. According to the National Park Service, wild animals can carry zoonotic diseases like rabies, hantavirus, or tularemia. Their droppings may also contain bacteria or parasites that can spread through air or surface contact. That’s why it’s important to let trained professionals handle wildlife management and clean-up.
