Claudio Salem is a Brazilian Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) with a career spanning veterinary medicine, public health, and pest management. His work in vector control, notably during the Zika virus threat at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, led him to the United States in 2017.
Outside of his professional work, Claudio is a former member of his university's rowing team and is passionate about outdoor and water sports. He is a licensed captain for both U.S. and international waters and enjoys sailing and boating.

He has progressed through every level of the industry, from field technician and business owner to national sales leader and President of the Brazilian Pest Control Association.
Currently based in California, Claudio serves as the Technical Quality & Compliance Manager for Rentokil Terminix in the West Market.
He holds a DVM from the University of São Paulo, an MBA in Marketing, and is a certified Structural Pest Control Operator, Qualified Applicator (QAL), and Pest Control Adviser (PCA).
His unique background as a veterinarian allows him to operate at the intersection of animal health and public health. Claudio has contributed to emergency response initiatives with the CDC and led a 30-person team for the International Olympic Committee that successfully prevented vector-borne disease transmission during the 2016 Olympics.
