Through exposure therapy and a commitment to logical understanding, she turned her fear into a fascination, eventually shifting her focus from medical forensics to the diverse world of insect anatomy.
During her undergraduate years, she conducted two years of intensive research in forensic entomology, followed by two years in vector entomology, where she raised thousands of mosquitoes during the global pandemic.
She later attended the University of Florida to study termites under Dr. Nan-Yao Su, the inventor of Sentricon, and Thomas Chouvenc, one of the most prominent termite researchers in the field today. Her master’s work focused on the intricacies of termite behavior and molting, and being part of such an esteemed lab allowed her to collaborate with some of the industry’s most brilliant experts.
Hunter joined Rentokil in February 2024 and played a key role in establishing and opening the North American Innovation Center. Today, she uses her background in experimental research and data analysis to prioritize clean, sustainable termite management.
Having conquered her own fears through knowledge, she now considers it a privilege to use that knowledge to free others from their anxieties about pests.
Hunter is a specialist in termite behavior, technical outreach, and statistical data analysis.
