Are daddy longlegs poisonous?

Western Answers

I’ve always heard that daddy longlegs are the most venomous spiders, but their mouths are too small to bite. Is that true?

This is a common myth  - the short answer is no, daddy longlegs are not poisonous or dangerous to humans. People call a few different creatures by this name, including harvestmen (actual daddy longlegs arachnids) and cellar spiders.

Neither type poses a threat to humans. Harvestmen don’t have venom glands at all, and while cellar spiders do, their venom is harmless to humans and only strong enough to affect small insects. This makes them useful, as they control insect populations inside homes.
