Western Exterminator, celebrating its 95th anniversary this year, will be sponsoring a pop-up Pestaurant  on Saturday, October 8th serving insect infused dishes to the public for free to raise awareness about pests and to celebrate Western’s rich history in providing pest control solutions in the Los Angeles area and across the West Coast.

This one-of-a-kind event will be held in the heart of Santa Monica, California at the center of the 1300 Block on the Third Street Promenade between 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Passersby will be encouraged to sample a wide array of bug dishes created by local eatery Mondo Taco especially for this event.

Tasty menu offerings will include:

• Thai Mai Mealworm Salad 
• Jamaican Me Hoppy Jerked Seasoned Grasshoppers with Pineapple Salsa 
• Deep South BBQ Beetle Tacos
• Rice Cricket Treats
• Sweet & Savory “Buggy” Treats
• Chocolate Goes with Anything Dessert!

For each bug eaten, Western Exterminator will donate $1 to the Westside Food Bank, up to $3,000.

Pestaurant is a fun and engaging way to interact with consumers about pests while celebrating Western Exterminator Company’s rich heritage as a respected leader in the pest control industry – that’s nearly 100 years of keeping the West pest-free. Our purpose is to have our experts provide the public with an educational and slightly different look at the world of insects on October 8th.

Here at Western Exterminator we usually focus our efforts on ridding our clients’ properties of nuisance bugs and rodents.  However, throughout the world insects are a part of a protein rich diet for millions of people. Pestaurant services to motivate participants to be a little more adventurous while promoting the tremendous health benefits of eating insects.
